First draft Question one of the evaluation stage

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

A thriller film is a film that heavily stimulates the viewer's mood, giving them a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, surprise, anxiety and terror. I continued the key use of this convention in order to make my opening thriller based. Key conventions of thrillers include, a fast paced plot, the unknown, plot twists, investigation, a complex narrative which is not easily solved by the viewer and violent crime. In order to successfully complete the brief of a thriller these conventions had to be included. Evidence of this can be seen throughout my piece.  Several of them I have shown below through the stills seen below.

Second filming session

I am completing the second session of filming as after completing the first editing session I found that I had a lot of footage which was; poor quality or was not to the standard I was hoping to achieve. Today I completed the second session of filming for my thriller opening, from the first filming and editing session I found that my thriller had gaps forcing a lack of continuity. So during todays filming session  I completed the filming of the opening shots which I have added in order to make the opening flow with ease for the viewer. As the first edit was short, hard to follow and had gaps in the story line. Also using a range of different camera angles and skills.

Inspiration during the editing stage

When watching a music video today I noticed a technique used, which I could replicate during editing used Adobe Premiere the technique used is a type of layered clips which have a reduced opacity with different coloured filters throughout. This can be seen during the clip I have added above.
